We just finished our first paper and I now I am on to thinking of new topics for my next argument paper. One topic I wanted to look into was the new healthcare reform that was just passed. So I researched BOTH sides to see what I agreed with. The positives are as follows: It makes insurance more affordable by providing the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history. This helps 32 million Americans afford health care who do not get it today. Under the plan, 95% of Americans will be insured. It prevents insurance industry abuses and denial of care. On the opposite side: government has control of where we go to the doctor at. It will cost the country over one trillion dollars. Premiums will rise. I personally think that passing the healthcare bill is a bad idea. I will have to research it more though. I want to be able to decide where I go to the doctor at. If I get cancer or something like that I want to be able to choose the best doctor available not have one “assigned” to me.

first paper
Well I just got done writing my first augment paper. For this paper was really hard getting started on. As Facebook and the internet grows so does the information on these topics, there were many facts that could make my opinion go either way. I had to then organize that information and decided what stance I wanted to take. After all that was said and done I wrote away, that was the easy part getting my thoughts on paper, I then need to organize my paper , add a thesis and conclusion. The revision process was a long one; I revised once before I took it to the endorsement groups and then 3 times after that! Each new group and something new to say or something to add. This really helped my paper developed and “be all it could be.” I hope that I helped people out like they helped me out. The group that helped me out the most was the grammar group, I had to get it checked a couple of time. For my next paper I will be taking it to the writing lab, I think I can help me a lot on that part and developing my paragraphs better. For my next paper I also want to have more sources I had about five this last paper but the stronger you back up your argument the more it makes people think. The whole point of my paper is not to make someone switch their mind, because I am very stubborn and I know that by me reading one paper isn’t going to make me switch my mind. All I am trying to do is make people think about my argument.

I wrote my paper on Facebook and the work world. But there are also many reason of why outside of work it is dangerous. There are three major threats for social networking sites such as Facebook. One being identity theft which is the crime of stealing someone's personal, identifying information for the purpose of using that information fraudulently. This includes Social Security Numbers, credit card and banking account numbers, usernames, passwords, and patient records. The crime of identity theft is most often committed by organized crime. Secondly, Facebook adds threats to personal safety such as stalking or threatening either online or in real life. It is estimated that 1.4 million Americans are stalked each year. Thirdly, with Facebook there social risks through participating in minority groups or stigmatized groups. Facebook gives you the opportunity to add/join groups and even make them. The problem with this is that all groups are not tasteful and sometimes demeaning. Hate groups and what not can also get you fired from work or you can be considered a bully. I don’t want people to think that I am anit-Facebook. I actually have a Facebook and wouldn’t get rid of it. I am just trying to spread awareness to people and to use it safe. Facebook is a great way to connect people with each other; I guess you just have to be sure of who is on the other side of the screen. This goes for anything you do on the internet or any information you put out there about yourself, you think it may be blocked up there is always a way to get around it!
